The Tissington Estate is located in the Peak District National Park. The Estate which is owned by Sir Richard, totals some 2405 acres which is located in a ring block around the village of Tissington.
The Estate is made up of 17 agricultural tenancies with an average size of 135 acres. The land is mainly Grade 3 and 4, and is principally utilised for dairy and livestock production.
In addition the Estate has a number of commercial and residential properties which are rented.
All properties of the Estate are rented and a number of houses become available each year for letting. An enquiry list is kept of anyone who is interested in renting a property on the estate. There are 55 residential properties on the estate of different types and sizes. These include 13 farmhouses, which are included in the Agricultural tenancies, 35 cottages and 7 other properties including 3 flats. Approximately 70% of these properties are listed buildings.

This is 3 Darfield Cottages, which is a typical example of a two bedroom property on the Estate. The property is Grade 2 listed which means that no alterations can be made to the property without Listed Building consent being obtained from the Peak District National Park.
Conversion of Redundant Buildings
There are a number of redundant agricultural buildings on the Estate that it may be possible to convert to a number of different uses.
On the Estate similar conversions have been undertaken for example Carr Barn. Previously the barn was redundant, as it no longer met the needs of modern agriculture. The Estate therefore considered the various options available and planning permission was obtained through lengthy discussions with the Peak District National Park for the conversation of the property to a workshop

Trail Barn
Trial Barn is adjacent to the public highway and Tissington Trail. It would be suitable for possible conversion to a workshop or retail outlet.

Wibbern Hill Buildings
Wibbern Hill Buildings are located in the centre of Tissington Village. It could be suitable for possible conversion to art studio.
In return for the conversion of the property the Estate would be prepared to offer a longer term lease.
