Tours for Private Groups & Societies

The Home of Sir Richard FitzHerbert Bt

Groups or societies are welcome to visit the Hall and gardens at appointed times or by mutual arrangement at any date during the year (in addition to the published opening hours). Tours can be arranged for mornings, afternoons or evenings but the Gardens do look at their best on mid-summer evenings.   Whenever possible Sir Richard meets visiting groups but usually tours of the Hall are conduction by experienced Guides.

.  The tour last approximately 90 minutes.

.  Each tour should have a minimum of 20 people.

.  Parties larger than 30 can be split into two groups.

Because of its awkward and unusual nature the Hall is not suitable for wheelchairs and numbers are limited to prevent overcrowding.

The charge per head for 2008 is £7.50 (minimum £150 for a group).

A £100 non-returnable deposit by means of a cheque payable to Tissington Hall is requested at the time of booking.

Bookings can be discussed on the telephone but should be confirmed in writing to the Hall's Tour Coordinator:

Mrs Fran Holt, 6 Churnet Close, Mayfield, Ashbourne DE6 2LR 01335.346409.

Sir Richard's recently converted award-winning Tearooms, The Old Coach House, adjacent to the Hall, can provide morning coffee, lunch, tea and light snacks in addition to the Tour.   (During Well Drressing week no pre-bookings may be accepted by the Old Coach House). Reservations for group bookings should be made on 01335 350501  (Manager, Sally Hollingsworth).
