Introduction

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to  my home, Tissington Hall.  Built by my ancestor, Francis FitzHerbert in 1609 to replace the moated manor house to the north of the church, it has served our family as our main home for the best part of 400 years.

I have gained great pleasure from turning this house into a family home and hope you will enjoy your visit to the website which tells you about all the various operations at the Hall and the Estate.  My 20 years here have seen a lot of changes as we have attempted to "diversify" our activities as well as maintaining the farming economy and the wonderful landscape.
